After Virtual PC installs XP, a pop-up window displays a message telling you that Virtual Machine Additions are not installed on your virtual machine. Your new virtual machine will appear in that window. If you click "Browse," double-click one of the folders that appears in the folder selection window to select that folder.Ĭlick "Next" and then click "Finish" to complete the virtual machine and return to the Virtual PC Console window. The "Name and Location" text box contains a default location, but you are free to click "Browse" and select a different folder if you'd like to store the virtual hard disk in another folder. This window allows you to choose the folder where you'd like to store the XP virtual hard disk.
